C.N. Rowan Reviews Felix Chance

Wowsers! Chris had a chance to read Felix and had some wonderful things to say. If you don’t know C.N. Rowan, you should check him out. He wrote The imPerfect Cathar series and I’m pretty sure Paul and Felix have crossed paths during a few of their lives… but I digress.

Here’s what Chris had to say about Felix:

There’s something about chancers. People who ride their luck to good or ill, but who’ll roll with the punches and come out of the other side. We’re drawn to them, to see where that dice roll will carry them, up or down.

Throw magic into the mix? It’s a must to follow it all the way to the end.

Felix Chance is something particular. It’s special. Different in a way that’s good. In fact it’s great – mainly because of J.E. Pittman’s own skill. He’s a fantastic writer who can pull together a collection of what seem like random encounters, each slowly descending further into an alternative, fairytale-like version of our world – with all the dangers and delights that contains – and packing it with characters you want to see win against any and all odds. It’s peculiar, dreamlike at points, but always exceptional. Molly is a blast for a travelling companion and the strangeness slowly but surely comes together, creating a world that makes sense – at least as much as any world does, our own included. Felix Chance’s reality is a looking-glass version of our own, one only a side-step removed. I can’t wait to go visit it again in the next volume.

I’m deeply honored by Chris’ kind words and am so glad he resonated with Felix so well. I hope you will as well.
