Waiting for Dawn

The night is long and brimmed with darkness. Tears freeze to lashes.

Feeling abandoned. Lost along a snowy road. Cold and alone. Cold in my heart.

I wait.

I wait for Dawn.

I wait, for you cannot chase the dawn, it will always elude you. And the long night will draw on.

My footsteps led astray by false lights, flickers in the forest. Imagined things given weight in the darkness. Faith wavered. Colder now, Dawn seems further away.

Lost. Alone.

I wait for Dawn’s warm embrace. Magical. Magnetic. The sweet kiss of her light upon my face.

The bright, shining beacon of joy upon this world.

I will wait. However long this night lasts.
